- Tell us something about the show? ‘Parineetii’ is the story of two best friends from Punjab, Parineet and Neeti. They have different outlooks and expectations from life that leads them on to different paths – one is ambitious, and one wants to lead a simple life.In an unusual twist of fate, they both, get married to the same man. How their lives get evolved thereafter will form the crux of the story.
- Tell us something about your character Parineet is content with her comfortable life and rooted in all her family values. The beauty of my character Parineet is her simplicity. She is extremely respectful towards her elders and never crosses any boundaries that are set by them. It’s unlike any show that I’ve done to date and my character is really something to watch out for.
- Why did you choose this show? I was looking for a role that would be different from the ones I have done in the past. Firstly, when I was offered this show, I instantly said yes as the creator of this show is none other than ‘The Ekta Kapoor’, and every actor dreams to be a part of her shows. Secondly, the beauty of the character Parineet is what I instantly clicked with. I knew I had to play this role as I love challenging myself and to play this character was indeed testing. Lastly, the beautiful story plot of two girls from Punjab their friendship so pure, and how destiny ties them in an unusual bond.
- How did you prepare for this role? I am quite opposite to the character that I am essaying, which is challenging, but I love to challenge myself with new things. I tried to embrace the character to the best of my ability, and I hope the audience likes this new me.
- What do you have to say about your association with COLORS? Working with COLORS feels like home, and I have always had a wonderful experience teaming up with them. I am grateful to work with them yet again on such a splendid project and I’m sure our bond will grow more than ever with ‘Parineetii’.
- What message do you want to give to our readers/viewers? ‘Parineetii’ is a story of love and friendship with a twist, featuring a fresh pairing of the lead cast. The audience has always been supportive of new and unique concepts, and we are hoping that they will welcome and accept us with open arms. We are very excited to bring this show to your television screens on 14thFebruary every Monday-Saturday at 10pm only on COLORS.
- What precautions are you taking while shooting in a pandemic? We are all adjusting to working in the new normal. However, the production house and the channel have taken all steps to ensure that we maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe workspace. The new normal onset includes daily temperature checks, sanitisation, social distancing, and routine testing. We also make sure to maintain all the norms laid down for the safety of the cast and the crew by the authorities. The production house is also ensuring that everyone is vaccinated on the set.
- How does it feel to be Ekta Kapoor’s leading actor? The feeling is surreal. It happened so fast that I couldn’t believe I will be playing the leading actor in Ekta Kapoor’s show. It is a dream of every actor to work with Ekta Mam and my dream has been fulfilled. I still cannot believe we have started the shooting of the show and within few days the show would be telecasted for the viewers to see.
- How well do you connect with the character of Parineet? An actor gives something to the character and learns something from the character. The major similarity is that me and Parineet both are not someone who prefers to talk less and we also favour simplicity more. Contrasting things are Anchal aims at becoming something big in her life whereas Parineet just loves her family and gets happy seeing her family happy.
