- Could you tell us something about the show? ‘Parineetii’ is the story of two best friends from Punjab, Parineet and Neeti , who live in Punjab, with a strong friendship that is unbreakable. However, the two have very different aspirations in their life. Parineet is very comfortable with her life in Punjab while Neeti is ambitious who is ready to leave her life behind and move to the big city to achieve her dreams. While life takes both the friends down separate paths, but in an unusual twist of fate, they both, get married to the same man- Rajiv. How their lives get evolved thereafter will form the crux of the story.
- Tell us something about your character. I’m playing the role of Rajiv Bajwa who is a simple and innocent man from Barnala. He shares a great bond with his mother who raised him solely after the demise of his father when he was just a child. He is a fun-loving man who always wants to keep her mother happy but his life changes following a chain of interesting events later in the plot. His mother has always been against love marriages, but he is waiting to meet the love of his life. It will be interesting to see if he will be able to keep both his partner and mother happy.
- Why did you choose this show? When the script was offered to me, I was immediately intrigued by its refreshing storyline. The story is very relatable for the younger generation, and I am sure it would hit the right nerve with our viewers. Also, to be a part of Ekta Kapoor’s show again is extremely exciting.
- How did you prepare for this role? Rajivis a regular boy who does not have set ambitions or goals in his life. He takes every moment by its stride and prefers living a life without any complications. While preparing for the role, I tried to see how he would react and be in various situations in my daily life. I hope I can do justice to the writing of the show and Raj finds a place in the hearts of the audience.
- What do you have to say about your association with COLORS? I am excited to work again with COLORS. I feel that it has a great legacy of creating some of the most iconic programmers on Indian Television and I am glad that I am reunited with this family with our upcoming show.
- What message do you want to give to our readers/viewers?
- ‘Parineetii’ is a story of love and friendship with a twist. The audience has always been supportive of new and unique concepts, and we are hoping that they enjoy this as well. We are very excited to see what they think of the show and hoping to receive their support on this new journey.
- What is your approach towards playing different roles especially ‘Rajiv’? Rajiv is just like me, a fun-loving, gentleman and an innocent man who shares a great bond with his mother. I did not have to do much prep for this role as there are many similarities between us. Just like Rajiv, I am also attached deeply to my mom, and I feel the only challenging part would be playing emotional scenes between Rajiv and his mom. I hope I do justice to my character and entertain the audience.
- What has been your family’s role in shaping your career over the years? I did my graduation in 2018 and I used to do theatre and stage shows in my college in Gurugram. My parents used to come to watch and always used to inspire and encourage me to try in television industry. Then I got this lead role in Ekta Ma’am’s show. What else I could have asked for from God? I always believe in living in the present and everything will come to you whatever you deserve. Your hard work and struggle definitely pay off in the end. I am grateful for this show and Ekta KapoorMa’am for believing in me and lending me this opportunity.
