- Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyag Tandav is a mythological show which depicts the first love story of the universe between Shiv and Shakti. It captures the journey of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati’s duty, sacrifice, and separation that leads into tap, tyag, and tandav.
- Tell us about your role in Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyag Tandav?
- I will be seen embodying the role of Indra in Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyag Tandav. As we all know, he is the revered king of Gods and the sovereign of heaven. He wields immense power by controlling the weather and protecting the gods and humanity from evil powers. He is known for his prowess in battles against demons.
- Why did you choose to play this character?
- I chose to embody the role of Indra in this show because ithighlights his optimistic traits. While I’ve had the chance to play the roles of several Gods, I’ve never essayed the role of Indra. This role offered me a chance to experiment with my craft and be part of Producer Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s grand vision.
- How did you prepare for the role of Indra?
- To prepare for the role of Indra, I extensively researched his narrative and attended several workshops. Lord Indra is known to be righteous andthat’s what makes him a saviour in this saga.
- Did you face any difficulties while playing Indra in Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyag Tandav?
- Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyag Tandav has an air of austerity about it, which makes playing Indra challenging. I had to be extra conscious of my body language, voice modulation, and presence. All of it had to be flawless. To accurately portray him, I had to go into the depths of his varied emotions and motivations to strike a fine balance between being relatable and celestial.
- You’ve essayed mythological roles in several popular shows. What makes you choose them? How is this experience different from the earlier ones?
- I’ve been fortunate to have landed significant roles in the mythological genre throughout my acting career and I will be seen embodying the role of Indra Dev for the first time. It feels like my bond with deities’manifests in my work.
