Ahmedabad’s “Jiva Hari Foundation”, actively working since 2021, is dedicated to the welfare of women and children. Under the leadership of the foundation’s president, Priyanka Kala, many women have become self-reliant. On March 8, in celebration of International Women’s Day, “Jiva Hari Foundation” organized a rally with 800 women in Ghatlodia, Ahmedabad, aiming to promote women’s empowerment and self-sufficiency.
Priyanka Kala emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “We have provided 100 women with essential tools and resources for their livelihood. Additionally, we ensure that government-provided aid kits for the underprivileged reach the women who need them the most. Through this rally, we aim to raise awareness and encourage more women to join our mission.” Over the years, the foundation has achieved remarkable milestones, including training 2,000 women in tailoring, providing beauty Parlour training to 800 women, educating 200 women, and helping 1,200 women access loans. These efforts have significantly benefited economically weaker and marginalized women, enabling them to achieve financial independence. The foundation also actively fosters a sense of community by celebrating festivals with great enthusiasm.
Looking ahead, “Jiva Hari Foundation” plans to introduce menopause counselling for women and ensure the distribution of sanitary pads across various localities to promote menstrual hygiene. International Women’s Day is observed worldwide to honor women’s rights, equality, and contributions to society. This day serves as a reminder to recognize and appreciate the role of women while encouraging their progress. Let us all take a step forward in celebrating and uplifting the women around us!
