Ahmedabad: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Gujarat Circle today announced the transfer of Shri Sandeep Sawarkar, who has served with distinction as Chief General Manager (CGM) and ushered in significant growth and innovation. At the same time, BSNL Gujarat enthusiastically welcomes Shri Govind Kewlani as the new CGM, marking the beginning of a fresh chapter in the Circle’s journey toward digital excellence.
Welcome to Shri Govind Kewlani Stepping into the role of CGM, Shri Govind Kewlani brings extensive experience in building and managing complex IT ecosystems. Previously CGM, ITPC, Pune, he played a pivotal role in strengthening BSNL’s IT backbone through innovative software solutions and digital transformation projects.
His achievements include:
- Robust IT Infrastructure: Leading the design and deployment of critical IT platforms that enhanced operational efficiency.
- Software Innovation: Implementing cutting‐edge applications that streamlined business processes and improved customer experience.
- Digital Transformation: Championing initiatives that positioned BSNL to better compete in an increasingly digital marketplace.

Farewell to Shri Sandeep Sawarkar During his dynamic tenure, Shri Sandeep Sawarkar spearheaded initiatives that substantially elevated BSNL’s footprint across both urban and rural areas of Gujarat. Under his leadership, BSNL Gujarat achieved the following milestones:
- Massive FTTH (Bharat Fibre) Expansion: He oversaw a remarkable surge in fiber‐to‐the‐ home connections, bringing high‐speed broadband to previously underserved communities.
- 4G Network Rollout: His tenure witnessed the rapid deployment of 4G infrastructure, significantly enhancing mobile internet speeds and network reliability.
- 4G Saturation Project: He successfully executed the Government of India’s 4G Saturation project across previously uncovered regions, bridging the digital divide.
- Bandwidth Optimization & MAAN Deployment: By strategically optimizing bandwidth and deploying MAC (MAAN) equipment, he strengthened the Circle’s capacity to deliver robust, reliable services.
- Expanded Enterprise Services: He bolstered BSNL’s Enterprise Services portfolio, fostering deeper partnerships with government and corporate clients across Gujarat.
