Mumbai:Mumbai: Mumbai Police have arrested actor and self-styled film critic Kamaal R Khan, popularly known as KRK, for allegedly firing four rounds from his licensed firearm at a residential building in Andheri, where writer-director Neeraj Kumar Mishra resides.
Khan was detained from his studio on Friday night and formally arrested after questioning by a Mumbai Police team. During interrogation, he admitted to firing the shots on January 18. Police have also recovered the licensed weapon used in the incident.According to officials, the motive behind the firing is still unclear. Khan reportedly told investigators that he had no intention of harming anyone. He claimed that he believed the bullets would be absorbed by a nearby mangrove area, but due to strong winds, at least one round travelled farther than expected and struck a building in the Oshiwara area.
Police said writer-director Neeraj Kumar Mishra lives on the second floor of the targeted building, while model Prateek Baid resides on the fourth floor. No injuries were reported in the incident.Initially, the police had no leads regarding the identity of the shooter. However, further investigation later revealed Khan’s involvement, leading to his arrest. He remains in police custody as authorities continue their inquiry into the matter.
