The Gujarati film industry can be very proud as a grand event is going to be held on foreign soil to honor the artists and professionals of Gujarati films. The ‘Film Excellence Awards Gujarati 2021-22’ is going to be organized in Dubai this year. The nominations were announced on February 19, 2023 at the YMCA Club, Ahmedabad. Veterans of Gujarati film industry and artists were present on this occasion. The online form was opened last January 21 for producers who want to register their films in these awards, the time limit of which was January 28. Honorable RJ Devki has been announced as the Brand Ambassador of Film Excellence Awards Gujarati 2021-2022. From the Gujarati films released between 1st January 2021 to 31st December 2022, 69 film producers who are confident in the quality of their films have submitted online entries.
‘Film Excellence Awards Gujarati 2021-2022’ is jointly organized by Mr. Abhilash Ghoda-Teehai and Dr. Pavra- Pavra Entertainment. Present on the occasion Mr. Abhilash Ghoda of Teehai – The Music People, Dr.JayeshPavara -Founder of Pavra Entertainment& CEO Jamil Shah were present & shared all the details about the first ever award. Former MLA and artist Mr. Heetu Kanodia will be honored with Jury Special Award for his notable contribution to Gujarati Cinema. Gujarati film Chhello Show, which reached Oscar nomination, will be honored with a special award. If we take a look at the announced nominations, out of the total 69 films, 23 films have received nominations plus less. A total of 126 artist-professionals have received nominations in 28 categories, 14 special awards will also be presented.
Mr. Abhilash Ghoda and Dr. Jayesh Pavra said, “These awards are organized to take the Gujarati film industry to a higher level. For this, many producers had registered their films. Out of which many films were nominated. Apart from this, nominations for various other categories have been announced.”
The 28 categories for the ‘Film Excellence Awards Gujarati 2021-22’ awards include Best Story, Best Screenplay, Best Dialogue, Best Lyricist, Best Male Singer, Best Female Singer, Best Music Director, Best Original Background Score, Best Choreographer, Best Cinematographer, Best Editor, Best Publicity, Best Art Director, Best Costume Designer, Best Actor in a Comic Role, Best Actress in a Comic Role, Best Actor in a Negative Role, Best Actress in a Negative Role, Best Character Actor, Best Character Actress, Best Actor in Supporting Role, Best Actress in a Supporting Role, Best Debutant Actor, Best Debutant Actress, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director and Best Film.
About 300 people, including the film and actors included in the nomination, Bollywood and Gujarati film industry stalwarts, representatives of sponsors, will be taken to Dubai by the organizers on March 18.The second ‘Film Excellence Awards Gujarati 2021-22’ will be organized on March 19 at the prestigious Bollywood Park in Dubai in the presence of special guests from India and special invitees based in Dubai.
