COLORS’ ’Khatron Ke Khiladi’ returns with its 13th edition packed with adrenaline-inducing adventures and an unprecedented level of danger. Conceptualised in the jungle theme, the upcoming season of the show will feature 14 contestants from all walks of life. They will be seen battling the most terrifying challenges in the wilderness of South Africa. The iconic filmmaker and ace action maestro, Rohit Shetty will return as the host leading and mentoring the daring troop as they fight their fears. Produced by Endemol Shine India, ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 13’ will air on COLORS soon.
1. What are the 13 things you have carried with you to South Africa?
A. This is the first time I’ll be exploring a foreign tropical jungle while fighting my fears. I’ve seen South Africa in movies; it looks fascinating, and I can’t wait to find out what it looks like for real. I reached out to a few friends, who have a good grasp on which items should make it to my luggage. I’ll be carrying my clothes, protein powder, protein bars, trimmer, positivity, an idol of Ganpati, my collection of shoes, hair products, moisturiser, sunscreen, phone charger, airpods, and medicines.
2. If you were to become Rohit Shetty for a day, what challenges would you give to the contestants?
A. I would really like to give some challenge related to lions. I’m fascinated with them. I love them and I think it’s the ultimate royal animal. It would be amazing to have the Singham maker Rohit Shetty sir and the original Simbaa of South Africa together.
3. What was your family’s reaction when you were offered ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 13’?
A. They were mostly happy and a little bit concerned. My dad asked me if it is safe. I assured him that it must be safe. I pray that I can make my family and friends proud and face my fears on the show.
4. Which food dish you will miss the most?
A. I don’t think I’ll miss anything because my friends tell me that there’s great food there. I’m excited to try out the cuisine in South Africa. I can’t wait to sample Malva pudding and Malay curry. I think I’ll miss anda burji from the streets of Mumbai.
5. Whom will you miss the most (person/pet)?
A. I’ll be in touch with everyone on the phone. I don’t think I’ll miss anyone. That has to do with the fact that I like to live in the present. I want to give my 100% to the show and the experience of living in a jungle. Living in the present and in awareness will help me master my mind while I’m pushing my limits.
6. Are you best friends with any of the contestants in this season?
A. No, I’m not. I just know Anjum Fakih, but we’re not best friends. Building close friendships takes time and effort. I think friendships will be formed among us contestants because we’re going to be testing our physical strength together.
7. Who according to you would be a tough competitor?
A. I think Shiv Thakare would be a tough competitor. I have seen glimpses of his journey in a few reality shows that are based on tasks. He has impressed everyone with his presence of mind and physical prowess.
8. Have you followed the journey of any ex-contestant from ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’? / Which previous contestant do you draw inspiration from?
A. Of course, I have. I’m a big fan of the adrenaline rush that this show offers. Many of my friends have participated on the show. One among them is Shabbir Ahluwalia, who was fantastic and original. I’m inspired by the consistency and determination with which he did all the stunts. There was never a dip in his energy level.
9. If there is a previous stunt you would like to perform, which one would it be?
A. If I admit this, it can go against me. I really want to do the helicopter stunt that Sriti Jha performed in the previous season. It’s a stunt that’s on every action hero’s bucket list.
10. How are you preparing for your KKK journey?
A. I’m working out and enhancing my strength and stamina. I’m trying to hold my breath under water as much as possible.
11. What is the one fear you’d like to overcome in this journey?
A. The first fear that comes to my mind is heights. Even thinking about it can make me feel like on the cusp of having a vertigo. I want to overcome the fear of heights.
