COLORS’ ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ returns with its 13th edition packed with adrenaline-inducing adventures and an unprecedented level of danger. Conceptualised in the jungle theme, the upcoming season of the show will feature 14 contestants from all walks of life. They will be seen battling the most terrifying challenges in the wilderness of South Africa. The iconic filmmaker and ace action maestro, Rohit Shetty will return as the host leading and mentoring the daring troop as they fight their fears. Produced by Endemol Shine India, ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 13’ will air on COLORS soon.
- What are the 13 things you have carried with you to South Africa?
- I’m excited about exploring South Africa, a country that is rich in beauty, heritage, and culture. Whenever I travel, I’m a little more cautious about my health. Getting sick in a foreign country is the last thing I want while I’m trying to conquer my fears. I’ve packed things that I can’t do without. It includes my hot water kettle. I’m used to drinking water with soaked carom seeds from it. The other essentials that I have with me include my shoes, comfortable clothing, and protein shake.
- If you were to become Rohit Shetty for a day, what challenges would you give to the contestants?
- He will be giving a lot of challenges to us. Now, if I took on his role, I will take all the contestants on an all-expenses paid holiday as Rohit Sir has always given challenges to the contestants. This will be something different.
- What was your family’s reaction when you were offered ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 13’?
- Several members of my family love watching Khatron Ke Khiladi, but when they found out that I’m about to step aboard its 13th season, they were terrified. In fact, they were more scared than I am. Their reaction was like, “What?! Will you be able to do it?” I’m sure it will be exciting for them to watch my journey on the show.
- Which food dish you will miss the most?
- I eat food mindfully and I’ll stay true to my commitment to making healthy choices. The Indian food in South Africa is nearly authentic because there are many Indians here. But I’ll miss South Indian food.
- Whom will you miss the most (person/pet)?
- The biggest concern while travelling out of Mumbai for me is not being able to spend time with my four-legged babies. I will miss my dogs Micko and Theero. Spending time with them is the first thing I’ll do when I return to India.
- Are you best friends with any of the contestants in this season?
- I don’t know anyone. In fact, I am not even aware of half of the names. However, I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone on the show. I’m delighted that I get to share this journey with some of the most courageous people, who are loved across the length and breadth of India.
- Who according to you would be a tough competitor?
- I don’t know anyone who’s participating in the show, so I won’t be able to answer this question. I know that the show features some of the fittest celebrities. It will be exciting to watch the kind of work that contestants have put in training themselves for the show. Once the shoot begins, I will be able to tell who the toughest competitor is.
- Have you followed the journey of any ex-contestant from ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’? / Which previous contestant do you draw inspiration from?
- Honestly, I haven’t followed any of the seasons. I have just seen a few episodes here and there. Going by what I’ve watched, I think everyone who said eyes to this show is a braveheart. It takes a lot of guts to step aboard such a show that compels its participants to push their limits. I admire everyone who showed the courage to beat their fears.
- If there is a previous stunt you would like to perform, which one would it be?
- This edition has been curated in the jungle theme. It’s rather fitting for me because I love animals. I’m thrilled about the idea of performing stunts with them. I’ve always been fascinated by the big wild cats of South Africa. I hope that I get a chance to be around them and watch them up close.
- How are you preparing for your KKK journey?
- I am super prepared or rather I am preparing mentally. I think some of us underestimate the difference a peaceful mind can make in times of crisis. Fear is in the mind and so is winning over it.
- What is the one fear you’d like to overcome in this journey?
- I want to overcome the fear of creepy crawlies. I feel immediately threatened when I see insects, spiders, worms, and lizards. I think it’s an innate disgust-driven fear that many of us have. It will feel very liberating to not be afraid of them after this show.
