Efforts are being made to boost industries in Gujarat, which is considered the Manchester of textile-garment. Garment industry of Gujarat is popular in the country and abroad. However, the industry faced difficulties for the last two-three years due to the corona epidemic and economic crisis, but to overcome the epidemic and boost the trade, the 35th Trade Fair has been organized by The Gujarat Garment Manufacturers Association. Industries have reached pre-Covid levels, which will achieve 15-20 percent growth after the trade fair. Industrialists are eager to boost business with Janmashtmi, Rakshabandhan, Navratri-Diwali among other festivals, winter collection and wedding season and gearing up with fashion and new technology. More than 750 brands will be exhibiting at the Gujarat Garment Manufacturers Trade Fair. About 23,000-25,000 buyers from most of the states across the country will visit Trade Fair at Helipade Exhibition Center, Gandhinagar on July 20-21-22 over three days. Businessmen are hoping for large-scale orders from the B2B trade fair. On this occasion Mr. Jyotiprasad Chiripal, Managing Director, Chiripal Group of Industries, GGMA President Vijay Purohit, GGMA Hon’ble Secretary Mr. Dilip Bellani, GGMA Trade Fair Incharge Arpan Shah graced the program. This year, the association committee extended invitations to more than 16 states and information was also circulated to all associations and retailers so that more people could join the industry.
GGMA President Vijay Purohit said, “The future of the garment industry is very bright, as the industry has talented youth and skilled artisans. Garment Fair will be a milestone, as we are all slowly coming out of the troubles that the world was facing recently. Traders from all states of India who can place large orders have been specially invited to this trade fair, so that the artisans involved in the garment industry can get a good amount of work in view of the upcoming festive season. Also, the apparel park, which has been a long-standing demand of the industries, will be fulfilled in the short term with the support of the association.”
Mr Dilip Belani, Hon. Secretary, GGMA said, “Within this trade fair, keeping in mind the upcoming season and using very new technology, the manufacturers from Ahmedabad and Gujarat will exhibit very good fashionable garments. Through this Garment Trade Fair, once again Gujarat’s garment industry will be booming and huge employment opportunities will be created.”
Arpan Shah, in-charge of GGMA Trade Fair said, “Gujarat has more than 25,000 small and large garment manufacturers, with 15,000 manufacturers in Ahmedabad alone. As this sector is providing direct and indirect employment to more than 20 lakh people in Gujarat, it is imperative that this sector gets a boost. The sector is expected to pick up speed due to the trade fair. Fabric, washing, accessories and packaging industries are also associated with garment industries, which will also boost the trade.”

Gujarat Garment Industries has emerged as a global hub at national-international level. In the fashion industries in the country, Ahmedabad comes after Delhi, Mumbai, so the manufactures of Gujarat are getting good orders. The Trade Fair is organized by The Gujarat Garment Manufacturers Association to boost the trade which has been stalled for a long time. Buyers from other cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta, Ludhiana, Kerala and Chennai are likely to attend this trade fair in large numbers and book orders for the next five to six months. By organizing this trade fair, the industry, which has been in a recession for a long time, will be able to get relief.
