42nd All India Public Relations Conference Inaugurated and hosted by PRSI Ahmedabad Chapter
December,2020.India is moving forward to be the world leader under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Public Relations has to play pivotal role in translating the vision of India to reality. This was expressed by Dr Ramesh Pokhariyal “ Nishank”, Union Education Minister while inaugurating the 42nd All India Public Relations Conference, hosted by the Public Relations Society of India on virtual mode organized on the theme of “The Emerging New World , Post – Covid-19 : Public Relations in Action”. While appreciating efforts of PRSI in creating awareness on Corona and other national issuesDrNishank said that once India is out of Corona on the strength of its traditional values, Youth power, technical skills, India will emerge as the world leader. New Education Policy and the Aatmnirbhar Bharat Abhiyan will empower youth of the nation, who will build the new face of India, said DrNishank.
On this auspicious occasion, National Executive Committee Members MrNarendra Mehta, MsAnuMazumdar, MrUnmeshDixit,Mr US Sarma,Mr Y Babji, MrDilipChouhanand Chairman, PRSI, Ahmedabad Chapter, Mr Rajiv Kumar Singh addressed various facets of Covid-19 Challenge. Also to make this event more vibrant and successful Mr. Vicky Shah and Mr. Subhojit from PRSI Ahmedabad Chapter have provided their support to remember this evening for decades to come.
Presiding over the Inaugural Programme of the Conference, IndianOil Chairman Shri Shri Madhav Vaidya appreciated the role played by the Public Relations and Communication professionals during the pandemic times to achieve organizational goals, sustaining public services, creating awareness about Covid-19 and promoting safe work culture.Public Relations teams creatively took organizational programmes to the stakeholders very effectively .Referring to IndianOilMr Vaidya said that company was committed to sustain services and supplies to ensure that corona does not affect growth and progress of the country. Committed IndianOil teams ensured uninterrupted supply of petroleum products, including LPG. New facilities were also commissioned in this period, IndianOil introduced Euro VI Products and also 100 octane petrol, which is a great achievement, added Mr Vaidya.
PadmashreeDr K K Agarwal, Past President, Indian Medical Association in his key note address gave a detailed account of Covid infection and precautions required to be taken.Corona should die in 7 to 9 days; after 9 days you are post-covid and you are not contagious and can continue your treatment as a normal patient. In post- Covid situation, there are less possibilities of getting corona again but it may happen after three months. If you get the vaccine , you must get it administered, further added Dr Agarwal.
National President of the Public Relations Society of India DrAjit Pathak said that Corona has impacted the entire world. International relations, Governance, Corporate functioning, marketing , media and public relations. Public Relations is all about new challenges and innovating new prescriptions. In its six decade service to the profession, PRSI has not just focused on professional development but has remained committed to the issues of national concerns and those associated with social good. A new Scheme to promote Research in Public Relations has been unveiled by the Education Minister which will give cash awards to those achieving doctorate in PR. They will also earn PRSI life membership and felicitation at the All India PR Conference, said Dr Pathak. It is important for any profession to focus on education and research and this scheme will make humble contribution to develop the profession, he said.
