- ‘Naagin’, which is Ekta Kapoor’s most celebrated popular fantasy fiction franchise has starred popularactors in its previous seasons like Mouni Roy, Hina Khan, Surbhi Jyoti, Anita Hassanandani Nia Sharma, Surbhi Chandna and Adaa Khan amongst others. How does it feel to take the baton ahead and essaying the titular role?
- I am really looking forward to starting this new venture and thrilled to be associated with Balaji Telefilms for the first time and once again with COLORS. I am aware that the audience expects a lot from this show and all the actors who have previously portrayed ‘Naagin’ have done a fantastic job. I honestly feel the pressure to carry the baton aheadI would try my level best to do justice to the character. I hope that the audienceslike my performance and appreciate our effort.
- Tell us something about the show?
- ‘Naagin’ is back once again with a riveting new tale of vengeance. While Naaginuntil now has just sought vengeance for her personal reason, this time she has a bigger battle to fight.This time she will not only fight for herself or her clan, but for the country. This season shall witness the female version of the ‘Sheshnaagin’, she is ‘Sarvashreshth Naagin’ who has the sole power to save our country from a looking catastrophe and battle a global crisis that poses a threat to the survival of humanity.She will go far and beyond to fight the most powerful enemy in the history of this show.
- Tell us something about your character
- My character Pratha is who is a simple girl who lives with her dad in Faridabad. But she always finds herself in the midst of many problems and to have a stable life, she wishes to have a steady job. While she tried her best to sustain, her struggle has no end, and she is tired of all the uncertainties that come her way. How her life transforms, how she finds her way into the mystical world of Naagin is what one must wait and watch out for.
- You will be essaying the‘Naagin’ role opposite your ‘BIGG BOSS’ co-contestant Simba Nagpal, what do you have to say about it?
- When I came to know that Simba has been locked opposite me in the show, I was very happy. I remember how we used to have fun together while working on our kitchen dutiesin the house. He is a very genuine and sweet person and I share a great bond with him. I am excited to work with him on this new venture and I hope the audience enjoyour chemistry.
- How excited are you to share the screen with not one but two veteran actors Sudhaa Chandran and Urvashi Dholakia?
- I haven’t worked with Sudhaa ji and Urvashi before, but I am a huge fan of both and have followed their commendable work. It will be a great experience to work with these two highly experienced actors of our TV industry who have made a strong impact with the characters they have portrayed. I look forward to working and learning the finer nuances of acting from them.
- What are you looking forward to in the show Naagin 6?
- I have loved every bit of the storyline, right from the script to the costume to my character portrayal and the dialoguesin the show. Naagin is going to be very different this time and will be seen in a completely new avatar. The plot of the show is very intriguing and has the new-age layer to it, which I am sure viewers will find interesting to watch. It will also be quite a different experience for the audience to see me in this role, and I hope that they like it.
- We have seen how fictionshowsincluding ‘Naagin’are trolled over a few scenes.What do you have to say about it?
- I also believe that whatever we do, we should always be prepared for criticism as well. I would say it is the impact of the show that makes people watch it closely and talk about it.
- What precautions are you taking while shooting in pandemic?
- We are all adjusting to working in the new normal. However, the production house and the channel have taken all steps to ensure that we maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe workspace. The new normal on set includes daily temperature checks, sanitisation, social distancing, and routine testing. We also make sure to maintain all the norms laid down for the safety of the cast and the crew by the authorities. The production house is also ensuring that everyone is vaccinated on the set.
- How difficult it is to shoot in front of green screen?
- Yes, it is a bit tough shooting in front of the green screen, as you must imagine certain things. It is very challenging and at the same time it is very interesting because I haven’t done anything like this, and I love doing different things, so I am enjoying.
- Who is your favourite Naagin from the other seasons?
- My favourite was the first season, and my favourite isAdaa Khan, I love her, andshe is also my friend. But I also really loved Mouni also, she also was very nice.
