Amitabh Bachchan has enviable proficiency in multiple languages is no secret but his ease with linguistic intricacies and diction continues to take even his closest friends and colleagues by surprise. Veteran producer Anand Pandit whose forthcoming Gujarati entertainer ‘Fakt Mahilao Mate’ features a cameo by the superstar says,” Everybody knows that Amit Ji has a great command over many languages. If you remember his blockbuster hit ‘Laawaris,’ you will also recall that iconic scene where in a comic, fight scene, he switches to many languages while beating up the bad guys! I have no idea how he pulled off that shot but even today, his professionalism and commitment towards getting his dialogue delivery right is incredible.”
Bachchan who also lends his baritone as a ‘sutradhar’ to ‘Fakt Mahilao Mate’ dealt with Gujarati dialogues in the film without stumbling even once and Pandit recalls, “I was willing to get his portions dubbed but he very humbly requested me to give him a chance and then mastered the nuances of Gujarati diction in just 24 hours! We all marveled at how effortlessly he dubbed for the movie and made every line and dialogue sound beautiful and authentic.”
Even though the dubbing session was long and extensive, the superstar’s enthusiasm was unflagging. Pandit adds, “Amit Ji’s energy levels put people half his age to shame. He loves his work and being on a set and in a recording studio fuels him and gives him great joy. The secret of his success is his work ethic and the fact that he loves every little and big challenge of being a performer.”
‘Fakt Mahilao Mate’ jointly produced by Anand Pandit and Vaishal Shah, directed by Jay Bodas is all set to release on 19th August.
