July, 2023: A seminar on “Digitization and Technology for Developing Global Value Chains for Indian MSMEs” was organized by Business Trade Association in Ahmedabad. This seminar held with the support of Business Trade Association and Gujarat Chemical Association, various topics were presented by business dignitaries. The program started with a welcome speech by Mr. Dinesh Yadav, President of the Business Trade Association. He also shared details on the requirement of technology and its growth. The seminar was supported by SIDBI, SBI, ILFL, MSME Department, Kotak Mahindra Bank, SBI, Prajapati Computers (Tele Partner), Mahendra Bhavsar & Co. Held with the full support of Law Farm etc.
Regarding this, Purvi Pandya and Deepa Sharma, Founding Directors of Business Trade Association said, “We have organized this seminar to highlight the importance of digitization and technology in MSMEs, in which many businessmen have joined us. Now digitization has progressed and technology is also evolving. It is necessary to focus on these things.”
Various aspects related to MSMEs were covered in this seminar. Shri R Shailesh Unnithan, General Manager, State Bank of India, talks on “Favorable Financial Ecosystem for MSMEs”,Jhalak Harshad Kumar Shah, Assistant General Manager, SIDBI discussed on “Capacity Building Support Through Financing to MSMEs”,Gujarat Chemical Association & Gujarat Pharmaceutical Association and MSME Chair Gujarat University President Dr. Jamin Vasa expressed on “Competitive Strategies for Entering Global Value Chain by Indian MSMEs”
Also, Mr. RD Barhat, Joint Commissioner & General Manager, District Industries Center Ahmedabad made a special mention on “Government-Backed Credit Guarantee Schemes for MSMEs Expanding in Foreign Market”.Mr. Amit Saluja, Senior Director & Central Head, NASSCOM CoE delivered a speech on “Role of Digitization & Technology in Reshaping the Business Model of MSME”. Then Shri DJ Yadav greeted all the dignitaries.
This was followed by a panel discussion on “Digitalization Journey of MSMEs: Challenges & Opportunities”. The panel discussion featured Darshana Thakkar, Founder & CEO, Transformation-Strategy Hub, Amit Saluja, Senior Director & Central Head NASSCOM CoE and Ashwin Patel and Jitendra Panchal, President / Additional Director, Ahmedabad Engineering Manufacturers Association, Mr. Neeraj Shah, State President- Gujarat MSME & Start Up Forum- India and Shri Chanakya Bhavsar, Partner Mahendra Bhavsar & Co. were present and shared their views.
Mr. Ashish Patel, Vice President, IIFL Home Finance Ltd. gave guidance on “Fueling MSME Growth through Impactful Financial Solutions”. Information on “Digital Banking” was provided by Mr. Manan Undkat, Senior Vice President- Regional Business Head, Working Capital Finance, Kotak Mahindra Bank.At the end a case study on “Digitization: An Engineering for Sustainability for MSME” was presented by Mr. Ishwar Prajapati & Mr. Dixit Prajapati, Prajapati Commuters (Tele Solutions).Apart from this, a quiz session was also organized. The program concluded after the question and answer session. AEMA and MSME & Startup Forum as association partners played an important role in this entire seminar.
