Kartik (played by Shubham Dipta), still living under the shadow of his memory loss, finally stumbles upon a photograph that cracks open his forgotten past – an old wedding picture of him and Lakshmi (essayed by Sanika Amit). In a moment of soul-shaking clarity, Kartik recalls all the lost memories, and it dawns on him that the woman serving tea dressed as a simple maid Radha is not the house help, but his wife.
Shubham Dipta, essaying the role of Kartik in Mangal Lakshmi shares, “Portraying Kartik during the memory loss phase was a unique journey — it felt like I was exploring an entirely new version of the same man, someone stripped of his past, his emotions, and his connections. But now, stepping back into the shoes of the real Kartik feels like reuniting with a long-lost friend. That one moment where he realises Radha is Lakshmi — his wife, his world — is so powerfully written, it inspired me to give 200 per cent to my performance. It’s a turning point not just for Kartik, but for the entire story.
