16th July, 2025, Ahmedabad :July 2025 :- The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) on 16th July, 2025 (Wednesday) hosted the Smart Supply Chain Conclave 2025 – Unlocking the future of logistics in Ahmedabad. The Conclave brought together industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers to explore the transformative trends shaping the logistics and supply chain landscape, offering an unparalleled platform to connect, collaborate, and create growth opportunities.
The Conclave witnessed the launch of GatiShakti Cargo Terminal at Devaliya Station (WCGD), district Halvad, near Morbi (Gujarat). The Cargo Terminal was inaugurated by Shri Balvantsinh Rajput, Hon’ble Minister, Industries, Micro, Small and Medium Industries, Cottage, Khadi and Rural Industries, Civil Aviation, Labour and Employment, Government of Gujarat.
The Cargo Terminal at Devaliya Station, spanning over 30 acres, is developed by Western Carriers (India) Limited (WCIL). This fully integrated cargo terminal is set to significantly improve freight handling efficiency, reduce turnaround time, and lower operational costs for businesses.
The inaugural session was attended by Mr. Pathik Patwari (Chair, ICC Gujarat State Council; Director, Nexus Infratech Pvt. Ltd.), Mr. Kanishka Sethia (Chair, ICC National Logistics Committee; CEO, Western Carriers India Ltd.), Mr. Nilabhra Dasgupta, IRS (Deputy Chairman, Deendayal Port Authority, Kandla, Gujarat), Mr. Sandeep P. Engineer (President, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry), Dr. Savan Godiawala (President, Ahmedabad Management Association), and Mr. Girish Thomas (Chief General Manager – Traffic, JNPA, Nhava Sheva, Mumbai).
The discussions also emphasised on accelerating India’s logistics future through digital transformation, sustainable logistics practices, the role of artificial intelligence and automation, and strategies to enhance supply chain and logistics resilience. It was a platform for professionals to network, learn about the latest trends and technologies, and address the challenges facing modern supply chains, ultimately leading to more efficient, resilient, and sustainable operations.
