After melting hearts as a saga of siblings, COLORS’ ‘Dhaakad Beera’ takes a romantic turn with a 12-year leap, where love erupts, but duty demands a price. The fearless protector Samrat and his sister Kishmish must navigate a storm of adulthood and secrets. In this high-voltage new chapter, Gaurav Bajaj steps into the shoes of Samrat, now a 25-year-old man hardened by years of guarding his sister. Nikki Sharma plays Kishmish, no longer a helpless child but an 18-year-old fashion influencer whose very existence continues to shake the foundations of the family. And when it seems like Samrat can finally breathe, destiny rewrites his fate with a girl who sees through Samrat’s walls, who teaches him what it means to be loved, to be wanted.
But as Kishmish’s life is once again threatened, Samrat is pushed into an unthinkable choice. To save his sister, he sacrifices his love and agrees to marry Karishma, essayed by Neha Rana. His ruthless enemy, brought to life by Manish Khanna, ensures that every step forward drags him deeper into a web of power, betrayal, and misery. The question now is not whether Samrat can protect Kishmish, but whether he can save himself. Will he ever reclaim the love he lost? Or will the “dhaakad” brother lose himself for good?
Gaurav Bajaj, set to essay the role of Samrat, says, “It is exhilarating to be transitioning & exploring into Samrat’s world after the 12-year leap that transforms the story into a romance drama. He’s no longer the little boy who promised to protect his sister; he’s a man who has carried that promise on his shoulders for decades, and it has cost him dearly. What drew me to Samrat was his conflict: he wants to be strong for Kishmish, but deep down, he’s just a young man craving a life of his own. The tragedy is, just when he allows himself to feel worthy of happiness, life demands another sacrifice. That duality of strength outside and scars on the inside is what makes him so raw and so human. I can’t wait & look forward for the audience to walk this powerful journey with him.”
Excited to be seen as Kishmish, Nikki Sharma says, “For me, playing Kishmish after the leap is a responsibility because the viewers have lived and loved this story. At 18, she’s caught between being a girl with dreams and being the reason her brother sacrifices everything. Kishmish adores Samrat; to her, he’s not just a brother but a shield, a guide and a parent. And yet, she carries the guilt of knowing that his every joy has been bartered for her safety. I think every sibling, every family member watching will feel that knot in their chest, because Dhaakad Beera is now about the impossible choices love forces us to make.”
