India, July 9, 2026: Axalta Coating Systems (NYSE: AXTA), a leading global coating company, today announced its participation in Prawaas 5.0, India’s flagship multimodal passenger mobility summit, to be held from July 9–11, 2026 at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. As the leading supplier of coatings to the Indian bus and commercial vehicle segment, Axalta will use the platform to engage OEMs, body builders, fleet operators and policymakers in discussions on the future of safe, smart and sustainable public transport.
Commenting on Axalta’s presence at Prawaas 5.0, Dr. Prameela Susarla, Vice President & Managing Director, Axalta India said, “Axalta is the global #1 provider of world-class coating solutions for commercial vehicles. Our sustainable coatings provide not only excellent finish and aesthetics but also best-in-class asset protection, durability and productivity in the paint shop, enabling low total cost of ownership for bus OEMs. We are committed to meeting the evolving needs of shared mobility and are excited to be a participant and driver in this critical infrastructure ecosystem. Our ambition is clear – to make Axalta the most trusted and preferred coatings partner for India’s commercial vehicle industry.”
At the summit, Axalta will showcase a range of advanced coatings designed for the evolving needs of bus manufacturing, including its low-cure coatings. These are compatible with FRP substrates, supporting vehicle lightweighting and improved fuel efficiency, while also cutting energy consumption during the application process – all without compromising on productivity or finish quality.
The company will also highlight ongoing innovations aimed at supporting the sustainability and electrification goals of India’s bus industry:
- Waterborne coatings that lower volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, contributing to improved air quality
- Heat-reflective coatings that can reduce thermal load on e-buses, helping extend vehicle range
- A complete e-bus solutions portfolio, spanning body coatings, motor insulation (wire enamels, impregnating resins and electrical steel coatings), and battery assembly materials — positioning Axalta as a full-spectrum partner for electric bus manufacturers
Together, these innovations reflect Axalta’s continued investment in coatings that support both the performance needs of OEMs and the country’s broader push toward cleaner, more efficient mobility.
Events like Prawaas bring together the entire mobility ecosystem – OEMs, body builders, fleet operators, technology providers and senior government officials – under one roof. For Axalta, the summit offers a valuable opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue across the value chain, understand emerging trends and unmet needs, and identify partnerships that can benefit the ecosystem as a whole.
