Ahmedabad: Marking International Women’s Day 2026, the Progressive Foundation of Human Rights (PFHR) organized a National Convention on the theme “Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls” in Ahmedabad. The convention was held at Hotel Silver Cloud near Gandhi Ashram on Ashram Road and witnessed participation from social activists, community leaders, and citizens committed to women’s empowerment.

The event was presided over by Rakesh Pandey, President of PFHR, who highlighted the importance of collective efforts to ensure equal rights, justice, and opportunities for women and girls across society. He emphasized the need for stronger awareness, policy support, and community initiatives to address gender-based challenges.

The convention brought together experts and participants to discuss various issues related to women’s rights, gender equality, and the role of society in building a safer and more inclusive environment for women. Speakers encouraged greater participation of women in leadership, decision-making, and social development initiatives.
The event was coordinated by Ramesh Chandra Tiwari, with Monika Vaghela serving as Convention Incharge. Several members of the organizing committee, including Jagdish Pandya, Mukesh Vaidya, and Mukesh Srimali (Gujarat President), were also present during the programme.
The convention concluded with networking interactions among participants and a high tea, allowing attendees to exchange ideas and strengthen collaborations for future initiatives aimed at women’s empowerment
