India,2024: Sensodyne, a leading oral care brand from the house of Haleon (formerly GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare), has partnered with the Indian Dental Association (IDA) to celebrate the significant role of dentists in ensuring good oral health as part of World Dentist’s Day, observed on October 3rd. To honor the invaluable contributions of these oral health experts, Sensodyne and IDA have co-created a unique platform that enables dentists to discuss the latest scientific advancements in dentistry, aimed at improving patient outcomes. The platform recognizes and felicitates senior dentists for their outstanding contributions to the field of dentistry and in society.
As part of this initiative, multiple chapters are being hosted across various cities, with the most recent one held inValsad on October 19th at Hotel Flambe. The IDA chapter provided participants with an opportunity to discuss key oral health challenges, the importance of proactive healthcare, and to share insights on some of the most complex cases they have encountered, fostering innovation and solution-oriented discussions.
This event also celebrated the contributions of local dentists, honoring individuals in four categories whereDr. Nitin Parakh was honored as the ‘Father Figure’ for his pioneering contributions to dental care in the region. He was joined by Dr. Nile Desai, who was recognized for ‘high social impact’ and improving community healthDr. Uday Patelreceived accolades for his ‘unique patient care’, prioritizing the comfort and needs of his patients. Additionally, Dr. Ankur Desai was celebrated for his significant advancements in ‘technological excellence’ within dentistry.

Additionally, four digital films titled #DoctorsOfJoy were released on social media platforms, paying tribute to the significant role dentists play in enhancing the oral health and well-being of individuals across India.
