The Sindhi community of Rajpath celebrated Cheti Chand, the auspicious birthday of their revered deity, Lord Jhulelal, with immense fervor and unity. This year’s celebrations, organized by the Sindhi Parivar Group (SPG), reached new heights, culminating in a spectacular car rally Shobha Yatra.
Cheti Chand, also observed as the Sindhi New Year, honors Sai Jhulelal, the protector of the water element and a symbol of unity for the Sindhi community. The festivities began with traditional celebrations at Rajpath Club, featuring the sacred Behrana Saheb and the vibrant Sindhi folk dance, Chej.
“This year’s Cheti Chand celebration was a testament to the unity and strength of our community,” said Jagdish Kanjani Spokesperson and committee member of SPG. “The overwhelming participation in the Shobha Yatra reflects the deep faith and devotion we have for Sai Jhulelal. We are immensely proud of the success of this event.”
Following the traditional rituals, SPG organized a grand Shobha Yatra, a car rally that commenced from Rajpath Club and proceeded to Sindhu Bhawan. The procession featured a beautifully decorated Baggi carrying Sai Jhulelal, accompanied by a lively band and DJ playing traditional Sindhi music, creating an atmosphere of devotion and celebration.
The Shobha Yatra witnessed an overwhelming participation, with over 3000 devotees and 600 cars joining the procession, demonstrating the strong bond and solidarity within the community. This grand turnout underscored the deep reverence for Sai Jhulelal and the collective spirit of the Sindhi community in Rajpath.
The SPG extends its heartfelt gratitude to all the community members, volunteers, and participants who contributed to the grand success of the Cheti Chand celebrations.
