Ahmedabad: 11th Aprila – Arpita Trivedi, an adventurous educator from the Satellite area of Ahmedabad, has been running an educational institute for nearly two decades. Alongside this, she organizes an Adventure Camp every year with the aim of encouraging children to step out of their comfort zones, explore and understand nature and the environment, and enjoy it too. Through this commendable initiative, she also wishes to involve women along with children.
Arpita Trivedi believes that adventure and adventurous activities accelerate personal development. They help boost self-confidence. Spending some time outside one’s comfort zone brings new experiences that are very important for self-growth.
Combining modern educational methods with adventurous activities has become extremely important for today’s generation. Strengthening this philosophy, Arpita Trivedi says, “Adventure camps are not just about fun or enjoyment for children; they are also a great medium to develop their leadership qualities, teamwork, and stress management skills.” The camp includes many physical and mental adventure activities like trekking, river crossing, rappelling, paragliding, and bungee jumping.
Arpita Trivedi further mentions, “In today’s times, screen time has increased and is taking children away from the pure companionship of nature. Through such activities, we bring them closer to nature and make them more sensitive toward the environment.” According to her, what a child learns through experience stays with them for a long time and is useful throughout life — which is why she emphasizes that adventure activities hold a very important place in education.
